Dr. Florian Heupel
CEO of MWG Biotech AG

Dr. Heupel holds a degree in Chemistry from the Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn and D.Phil. in Organic Chemistry from Oxford University, UK.

He started his career in top management consulting with the Boston Consulting Group in Düsseldorf. Subsequently he was Business Development Director of mondus.de in Hamburg, an international eCommerce subsidiary of Telecom Italia.

In 2002 he joined the Eurofins Scientific Group as Group Marketing Director in Brussels. Since 2004 he is in addition CEO of GeneScan Europe AG and has successfully restructured the business.  

From October 2007, Dr. Heupel is CEO of MWG Biotech AG.

Bruno Poddevin Ph.D.
COO of MWG Biotech and Managing Director of Eurofins MWG GmbH

Mr. Poddevin holds an Master of Science degree in Engineering from the Ecole Centrale de Paris and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Paris-Orsay. He has spent his whole life in the oligo industry.

In 1992 he joined Genset, France, as one of the first employees to become Vice President of the company’s Oligonucleotides Division in 1997. In 2002 he managed the sale of Genset to Degussa and subsequent merger of the company with Proligo, where he was Vice President Primers & Probes. In 2005 he catalyzed the sale of Proligo to Sigma Aldrich. 

He has been restructuring the business of MWG Biotech since 2005.
