Complex Genes

Complex genes of Eurofins MWG Operon are available for any size and any GC content. Long repeats and secondary structures can be present.

Our service includes a personal consultancy to find the optimal expression system, to check your sequence in advance, and to design your perfect gene in silico. Our proprietary software GENEius provides unique features for gene optimisation.

Processing Complex Genes

1. Consultancy by our experts (optional)
To find the optimal expression system, to check your sequence in advance or to design your perfect gene

2. Sequence Optimisation (optional)
By using our proprietary software GENEius. The supplied amino acid or DNA sequences will be optimised, e.g. by adapting to the codon usage of any organism. Repeats or hairpin structures are avoided and the GC content is adjusted. GENEius is also available as free online tool for our customers

3. Experimental Design
Of overlapping oligonucleotides for gene synthesis by using GENEius

4. Oligonucleotide Synthesis
At our in-house DNA synthesis facility

5. Gene Synthesis
Of new genes from only a few base pairs up to several kb in size. Synthetic genes are assembled using overlapping oligonucleotides, employing LCR (Ligase Chain Reaction) and PCR technologies

6. Subcloning
Into a standard vector or into a vector of choice

7. Quality Control
By double strand DNA sequencing of the cloned gene performed at our in-house sequencing facility.

Delivery and Documentation

Genes will be delivered by using E. coli clones and plasmid DNA (mini scale preparation). Higher scales are available on request. You receive a quality assurance report, including detailed project specifications, complete plasmid description, restriction map and DNA sequence information

We ensure strict confidentiality of every project. The high quality standard of our service is permanently assured by a professional quality management. We are certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
