Our proprietary software GENEius¹ optimises and adapts amino acid or DNA sequences to the codon usage of a chosen organism. Generally codon optimisation can improve gene expression in heterologous expression systems by avoiding rare codons and using all different codons with similar frequencies as they are used in highly expressed genes of the chosen organism. Furthermore unwanted motifs or secondary structures like repeat or hairpin structures can easily be avoided and the equal distribution of G and C bases can be achieved.
By this means, the efficiency of gene synthesis itself as well of further downstream applications is considerably improved.
