Library Generation Service

With our library generation service, we generate libraries depending on your individual needs.

We prepare BAC libraries for you, array these libraries into plates and spot the BAC clones onto nylon filters.

  • If smaller fragments are needed, we recommend our Cosmid and Fosmid library service.
  • For transcriptome analysis we offer a broad range of standard, normalised and subtracted cDNA libraries.
  • For shotgun sequencing or other studies, we prepare from your samples (genomes, BACs, PACs or Cosmids etc.), mechanically sheared shotgun fragments cloned into plasmids.

BAC Library Generation

  • Raw material is shock frozen tissue
  • Preparation of high molecular weight DNA
  • Generation of the insert DNA and ligation into vector
  • Insert sizes between 80 kb and 200 kb

  • Preparation of glycerol copies of the master plates

Shotgun Libraries of Bacterial Genomes

  • Preparation of genomic DNA on request
  • Mechanical shearing of the DNA
  • Insert sizes from 1.5-3 kb
  • Ligation mixture is provided

  • A stab culture of the respective clone is required
